The Office for Counseling and Psychological Services has offered to host a free Mental Health First Aid Training/Certification for Student Organization Advisors.
Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common supports. See the attached flyers for more information. Participants will earn a Mental Health First Aide certificate. This trainers have a special designation for Higher Education Settings that provides a very practical and relevant lens to the training experience.
Please know, this is an 8 hour training, but from experience I can tell you that it is worth your time. There is a 15-person minimum; therefore we need you to rsvp for this opportunity. The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership will be providing breakfast and lunch for all attendees.
